I don't usually focus on what type of fabric I'm drawing. Unless it's something over-the-top noticeable, it has no place in a Quick Party Picture. But sometimes..... sometimes the fabric does make a statement. So I have to feel comfortable drawing the fabric in order to Exaggerate the fabric.
Time off today, I drew some basic types of fabrics. I hope I remember to go to extremes when drawing Shiny Fabrics ~ Yes blacks and whites. I hope I find time to work with my (which ones are Transparent?) Markers to get a better expression of Transparent Fabrics. And I hope I remember to use only a little bit of contrast when drawing Thick Fabrics like wool or flannel. Maybe I'll also add a thickness dimension when drawing an extremely noticeably thick fabric.
Anyway, here are a few simple basic fabrics drawn with whatever leftover supplies I had here on my counter:
